I was in a EQ once but it was very minor, outside standing with others in a paddock discussing the sale of some bulls just your average cow cocky morning. First thing we notice was the birds all stopped chirping, out in the open on a farm its normal to hear the birds singing away. But it went complete silence, then it happened. First a loud rumble & in front of me I could see the paddock rolling towards me like an ocean getting closer till it got right up to me and knocked me to my feet I tried to get up but fell straight down again. Last about 15-20 seconds. No damage but was scary as hell.

Reminds me , the birds in ChCh were gone for weeks and week. eerie silence.

The June 13 6.3 we had, I just got home, we left work after the 5.7, one of our cats was scrambling to get into the house via the locked cat door, never ever does that. Probably 15 seconds later, bang.

But its quiet now, the odd time there are hardly any in a week, then a few, but we hardly feel them. Last I fet was a 3.9 3 weeks ago
