Well after 24 hours with my netbook. I can't seem to find Bluetooth settings. Starting to think it hasn't got bluetooth at all.

It doesn't :(

Yea the XP Pro has been put on it so I can log in to our domain here at work.
And that will explain the Boot booster thanks, I wiped all partitions off the drive when I installed XP.

Hello, I have lurked here since this started. Rang HN in Lower Hutt earlier today, told them I had a raincheck for a HP mini and wanted to know if they had the Asus ready, lol, got told on the phone that they would "offer me specials" to compensate for waiting so long... When I collected the Asus though I got no hard sell when I got there, not even the warranty sell/nortons. Very happy with my purchase.

c71931f: Didn't someone mention earlier that the asus netbook/laptops that people with rainchecks are getting, didn't have a card reader?
Because it does have one..

I wonder if they meant that the ASUS doesn't have a memory stick pro and xd card reader. It has a SD card reader.

I thought the person said that it wasn't a multi-reader, only reads sd & mms but not xd or any other format?

So what cities/stores haven't received theirs yet. At Hastings staff have heard nothing, also Christchurch I believe?

Hmm, will be avoiding Harvey Normans from now on. Not really interested in their replacement netbook as the HP machine to me appears to be the better product, also looks a lot better so disappointed that I'll never get the HP product I went in to get.

Top all this off with their pushy sales people and bad customer service (especially when you've bought the product and left the store... hello where's the backup support???)

Try finding repaclement filters for your Roomba from HN.. **cough**

Went to HN had a TV I was wanting to buy for $3995... went down to Noel Leeming and got the same TV for $2995.... and they offered a great finance deal..

But I've gone alittle OT...

The specs are very close, and the Asus is probably a very good netbook but to me the HP is overall a better product. Anyway I've noticed people are now selling the Asus on TM which to me is just wrong, atleast they could do is hide the HN sticker :-/

And?
They're doing it to get a profit mostly..
Just like the hp $288 laptops.

The term is called a profiteer, unfortunately such is the nature of most humans. But that spawns entire different conversation that would be off topic.

Umm..
Did the hp one have a 6 cell battery ?what's so diffrent between the two?
I've had no problems with HN, today no-one was pushy, no-one suggested etc buying norton A/V etc.
How does it look "alot" better?Yell

The HP has 280 chipset, so is faster, but also consumes less power. I would still expect a 6 cell battery in an Asus to last a lot longer than a 3 cell in an HP, however the Asus's dimensions and weight are also greater. So it is a payoff between size, weight and performance of the HP, vs battery life of the Asus.
