scottjpalmer: Saw it at The Embassy. Pretty damn spectacular!
Pity the storyline is only "a bunch of dwarves go for a walk and have a few fights"

Read the book? That's about the size of it...
ubergeeknz: Are there any cinemas in Auckland showing in HFR? I will put up with 3D if I must, but not if it's 24p.

gehenna: Humbug. HFR is awesome.
josephhinvest: I saw it at WestCity, 3D HFR. I thought it was great. Yes it certainly looks different to film, because is it not film.
The HFR was particularly noticeable during the mass action sequences, which were very impressive indeed.
I guess in a way it's similar to comparing NTSC to PAL, NTSC is inferior in technical terms, but can look "nicer".
It would be interesting to see it in 2D but I'm very happy with the 3D HFR experience.
Cheers,
Joseph

What he said. The experience is something you must experience yourself and not rely on reviews. Also has anybody experienced the Dolby Atmos audio at the Embassy and if so, now was it?
