The other ones profile was Tauranga Bay of Plenty, but he said collect from ngtea, katikati & manurewa? etc
He gets around a bit.

I asked a question on this one so we can see if his response is some bs about a shop named after his children :)

Have worked in a fraud detection and prevention capacity for a large online auction retailer, I can say that anyone who is new to the market has no idea what they are in for.

The amount time, effort, resourcing and technology involved in keeping a site like Trade Me relatively safe is not insignificant.

If there approach to basic web security is anything to go by, these guys have no clue at all.

The 2nd photo of the new listing for the iphone has a Slando watermark. A quick google of Slando shows this is a Russian (etc) classifieds site...

This is getting amusing!

joker97: How does one perform a reverse image search?

If you have Chrome, on most pictures you can right click on the image and click " Search Google with this image". Or just use Google Images and upload a picture to see if you get a result.. :)

Wow, having a snoop around Wheedle, there is a guy who has 2x iPhone 4, 2x iPhone 5, 1x iPad each auction say they were a gift that they don't want. Must have great friends

Also an auction closed this morning on an iPhone5 that was purchased from Vodafone but selling because he got a black one. I watched the auction close. Now it's back up, same story. The sale must have fallen through very fast?

I feel a lot of people are going to get ripped off, I've asked a couple of leading questions it will be interesting to see if I get a response

Don't they have a report button on the auction? Trademe do. I couldn't see one, but maybe you need to be logged in and be a member.

That auction was added, then removed pretty quickly. I just noticed "Buyer can pick up" written on it.

The user Santana88 appears to be selling a bit of Apple gear, I can't see any report button (but I don't have an account either) - all gifts.

They do have a "Report this listing" button at the end of the page (past the comments if any.) And pretty sure you have to be logged in to see it. I reported one if yesterday night's auctions through that button.

Normally when you buy on an auction site, you rely on a good level of feedback. If someone has 0 feedback, then people are taking quite a big risk unless they use something like safetrader. It is part of the problem with a new auction site. I recall reading somewhere that some new auction site was trying to get feedback from other auction sites transferred, as they beleived the owner of the account owned that information and not the auction site
