You'd be amazed at the amount of vehicles outside of main centres that probably haven't seen a WoF in the last 10 years! Misaligned headlights for MILES! The thing is, a lot of them won't distract a car as they just shine over the top. I used to drive both night and day.... damn distracting.
Basically you'll see the flashing headlights way before seeing the rooflights unless it's at night...on an empty road.

Idiots apply to me too! I feel the whole ten second rule is silly. Trying to judge distance and behavioral tendencies of the car in front of me and check that the car behind me isn't connecting with my tow bar can be a difficult balance some times.

Yeah, I sometimes wish every learner had to spend a day in a truck, they'd soon learn what the gaps are for.

Another thing my Mrs said the last 2 times we were over "I can't believe how bad NZ drivers are"... I just LMFAO. :D

Where did you get this "10 second" rule from?

This is from the requirements for the driving licence test

"When driving straight, checks the mirrors often enough to maintain awareness of surrounding
traffic. The required frequency varies with traffic conditions."

I've completed various driver training courses with different instructors...They all seem to believe that to maintain optimal situational awareness, you must check mirrors every 10 to 15 seconds. I guess I just assumed it was the law since 10 seconds seemed to be the going "rule". I genuinely believe it helps, but can be a bit difficult to maintain when there is a situation in front of you.

TimA: I have one of these cars. It looks so much better with the 2 outer lights on. As illegal as it maybe having headlights on during broad daylight. (I misread the post above its legal lol..)

topic aside, respect TimA. Is this this a 325is? Haven't seen any of these in NZ? Did you direct import ?
