Alcatel One Touch Max - kept it until it died
Another Alcatel (511?) - kept it until it died
Panasonic of some sort - kept it until it died
Vodafone 715 - kept until I moved out of Vodafone coverage
Nokia 6275i - kept until XT launch
Sony Ericsson W705a - kept until mid-2010, when I decided to try Android
Nexus One - kept until iPhone launch
iPhone 4S - kept until 6 launch
iPhone 6

Two Alcatel 'one touch' sort of things back in the day of 20c per text
The blue "$10 text" telecom nokia phone
Samsung(?) slider phone with 2MP(!) camera

1995 - original "Nokia Orange" soon after Orange launched in UK
1997 - Motorola flip dual-band (900/1800) handset to allow roaming (orange were originally just GSM1800)
1999 - Ericsson SH888 on porting number to Mercury
2000 - Nokia 7110 on moving back to Orange
2001 - received a free Motorola timeport 260 from Orange for appraisal of new GPRS service
2002 - Ericsson T68 because IR data transfer was so unreliable on Moto
2003 - Nokia 6820 because T68 was unreliable in calls
2003 - LG flip phone which lasted about 2 days before I took it back due to atrocious cellular reception
2003 - Moto v545 - nice phone which I still have as a backup
2005 - imate Jamin work phone
2008 - HP ipaq 510 for push email
2010 - Samsung Galaxy Spica to try out Android
2011 - Orange San Francisco (ZTE Blade) - major upgrade to the Spica
2012 - Sony Xperia P
2014 - Moto G

Well... lets see if I can remember...

Nokia 252 in 1999
Nokia 5120i in 2001
Nokia 3315 in 2002
Nokia 7250 in 2003
Nokia 2280 in 2003
Sony w995 in 2009 (wow, big gap there... those two Nokias lasted me forever!)
Nokia 3210 Classic in 2009 (I hated the w995)
iPhone 4 in 2011
Nexus 5 in 2014
iPhone 5 in 2015

Of all the phones above, only the 3315 and Nexus 5 died. The 3315 dropped into a toilet, and the Nexus 5 I still have, but with a broken screen from a <30cm drop (sigh).

I stopped being able to justify spending more money on smartphones, and opted for a second hand iPhone 5, basically because my iPhone 4 was just too slow with iOS 7.

Interestingly the iPhone 5 came with iOS 6, which is so, so, so much faster than iOS 8 it isn't even funny. I wish you could downgrade, because I remember iOS 5 on my iPhone 4 being really usable, and really fast, for the things I use smartphone for (web, maps, twitter, email). Unfortunately on iOS it's difficult to stay far behind if you use e.g. banking apps, or productivity apps that cut off their older versions :(

I honestly don't remember the exact number... I've probably had about 7 or 8 various ones just while I've been working at Vodafone. My first one was a huge Motorolla which you could just barely afford to use to call in an emergency or failing that, use it to bludgeon your attacker to death. Then a Nokia 5110, an Ericsson T10, Nokia 3210 and a slew of Samsungs (my first colour screen phone was a Samsung clamshell) to follow. I remember having a Siemens, a Palm device (PalmOS was awesome for its time), a Sony Ericsson as soon as the companies merged. Currently quite happily using a Xperia Z. Yep, a 2 year old phone. It's beautiful, works and I'm going to be sticking with it for a looooong time, methinks.

1998 - 2006 Nokia 5110
2006 - 2012 Motorola v360
2012 - Now Samsung Galaxy S3

Only ever upgrade as needs require. Probably look at a new one sometime this year...

2009 - Crappy Vodafone Slide Phone, It was awful.
2009 - Telecom R6. Good phone, except for the predictive text. Purchased as I wanted to move to XT.
2012 - Motorola Defy, fine. I broke it (my wrong doing) so had to be replaced.
2013 - Motorola Defy Mini, purchased cheaply to replace the Motorola Defy. Okay, but the storage was too small. Couldn't stand it for too long.
2014 - MotoG. Amazing phone for it's price. Will likely keep it for a while, I am eagerly awaiting Android L!!!

havent had one yet and cant see any need for one . i have never had a moment where i have thought damn wish i had a mobile.

Well If I just quickly count up all my old phone chargers.....about 20.
First was in 1994, a shiny new Nokia 2010 which I think was connected Bell South, it couldn't make text messages but
it could fit into my pocket . They keys had backlights and you could hear it ring
Unlike my current Galaxy 4.

Can't quite remember the model of my first phone off the top of my head, but it was something like Motorola Ultra Slim 8900 I think. Then something like the MicroTAC Elite.

The collection slowly got larger from there. Although, no divorce as yet ;-)

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

Personally, probably about 10 I guess ? Only had a couple of work supplied phones.

1st one was the original Nokia Prepay phone from Bellsouth - cost about $300 and came with $200 credit (which the g/friend at the time chewed up in 2 weeks).

Credit card sized SIM card FTW ;)
