Is it really? If I'm fighting and I dispatch my enemy? Then using the other version of the word wouldn't really work...

Interesting. I wonder if the originating French word despeechier (to set free) could be applied to mean killing someone.

I actually think given you provided feedback to The Warehouse and they responded that this will probably result in a change.

 

If there's one business that I get the feeling cares about their customers it's The Warehouse Group.
