Yeah, motorbikes are great but some car drivers are scary enough when in a car so at least you can mess them up good if they hit you. On a bike you dont have that same level of certainty that you will make them suffer for their stupidty and the biker always comes off much worse.
heavenlywild: It will be released in NZ according to Ford.co.nz. I had a look yesterday here in Aussie and it sure looks very sporty - not a nana's car at all. A 1.5 (nearly 1.6) litre engine. Put on some alloys and it will look fab!
Good news Ford confirmed to me the ECOcentric will be available June/July. My issue is that it is too small for our needs [we need a wagon] and it appears it will intiallyu only available as a manual

heavenlywild: I think hybrid is all a bit hyped at the moment. It's still got plenty of stages left in its development. Something tells me hybrids will never take off too fast, as fully electric cars are due within a few years. Anyway, wait and see:)
Toyota would disagree they plan to make all their vehicles Hybrid and also a plug in version of the Prius
The all electric Nissan LEAF although being available later this year in US and Japan markets is not scheduled for Austraila until 2012. The problem in NZ for all electric cars is the 150km range and no quick charging infrastructure in NZ. Also our Electricity market is not setup to allow consumers to have cost effective overnight charging
BTW Just discovered the Prius cannot have a tow bar installed
