Loan laptop arrived at Mum's work today. Very Very basic laptop
Compaq CQ60
1GB RAM
120GB HD (Enough to hold a bit of porn to send back to them xDD)
2.0GHZ Intel (single core Dx)
No webcam
Microphone
WiFi

and thats it... oh and a battery which is worn out really really bad so I'll have to use mains adapter whenever I use it.

Should tie me over in mean time. I owned my graphics teacher too. I got about 3 days worth of work done in one period and lunch time session (about an hour and a half/Hour and 40min) and she was impressed none the less and asked why it took so long to get done because everyone else did a lot at home but I said HP was messing me around and I havn't had a decent computer for coming up a month and she didnt even say congratz but I'm getting off topic here but yeh..

I should have my real one back in just over 2 weeks HP told us today.

And this is the same laptop my mate has, only better specs and it has a webcam and an HDMI port, but this one has the port of HDMI but its got a cap over it and power plug was on other side and i spent a while trying to find it. lol

Has HP told you what was wrong with your laptop?

Nope. When they first said they were replacing the laptop they said they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it so rather than make me wait any longer (the laptop had been at HP for 2 and a half weeks at that point) they would replace it completely. I'm sure its just a software problem. The error said something to do with the MBR but windows wouldnt see the partitions. Couldn't they just connect the HD to a pc with an adapter or something and reformat it completely?

Oh damn. If only we all had 3.5K to splash like that *snaps fingers*

But lots of mates say dell are good but the XPS series are fairly expensive

YAYYY finally got replacement laptop today. Took longer than its meant to because it was held up in either China or Singapore because customs over there wanted to inspect it and the box is covered in dents, stickers, tape and glad wrap. lol. But I have my laptop none the less and am taking it to Harvey Norman tomorrow/saturday to get them to make my recovery disks instead. over 6 weeks to get this done -___- just in time too. Because I was seriously considering throwing the loan laptop in a fire as it crashed twice when it tried to auto save my work for school
