If its not worth the person calling spending 25-44c per min to call me, then it is probably not important enough to warrant me answering the call and wasting my time.
Landlines being free to call just get all sorts of crap calls, people offering to recoat my roof, to clean the carpet, to sell me sky tv or a different ISP/tolls, Then there is all the surveys with no compensation for giving up my information, the donation seekers etc.
Get on quite nicely without getting all that crap. If there was a provider offering cheap as landlines ($5 a month or so) with an 028 number on it, I would consider it. Otherwise its mobile only.
I went to change my phone number on trademe and noticed that for home number ( which was needed) it had a drop down for area code and only had 03, 07, 09 etc.
I didn't understand the need for this as my address is verified.
