I didn't get pushie sale people an PN HN, they where great.

Battery life, I charged it yesterday, use it 3hours last night and 3 more hours today and still 16mins of batter life. Was mainly using browser and a couple of hours of Total Annihilation. So the batteries seem to be like the rest of the machine, total mint as.

How long would the slightly better 6 cell battery you can get, last for?9 hours?Cool that'd be awesome Cool

IMHO i would have prefered the Asus over the HP,which happened Cool

Have you tried BatteryBar on your Asus?

Oh and according to http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01868520&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=4033291 , the hp can only have 1gb max ram..so being able to have 2gb in the asus is also something better..Cool

You can have 2gb in the HP. Someone on here has already said they have put an extra 1gb into it.

5loth: i assume those who aren't happy with the Asus are just going to get their money back?

What I fail to understand is how anybody could be unhappy with a $288 Asus. It represents a true bargain!

+1.  Though I have been offered $700 for mine, so am probably gonna sell it.  The "custom built" really excites some people apparently.....

c71931f: But it's not even custom built..is it?Innocent

It may be "custom" in respect of the battery supplied with it, or the model may be sold exclusively through HN in NZ.  Mine has a retail sticker on the box so I'm assuming this model will be making an appearance on HN shelves soon, if it isn't there already.

But it's not a custom-built computer in the wider context thankfully.  At least we are assured the componentry has been fully integrated and tested at the design level, and we have ASUS after-market support via their website, etc.

Anyone found cheaper 2 Gig RAM than the DSE stuff ($79.99) mentioned earlier?  That's the accessory HN should have been pushing, I bet they would have moved a few chips.

From what I could tell, they haven't called anyone yet (pretty slack). We rang them to see if they had them yet, and they said they got them on Friday. You don't have to wait for them to call you, just cruise over there tomorrow and get yours.

Anyhow, THANKS HARVEY NORMAN, its a nice little netbook.
