loiicyy: Hi

I called the DIA and they told me that my case is been allocated to a case officer.

I think your application taking longer for processing maybe try to call them and check with them again

You can but you need to say why are you traveling and show you are coming back to live in nz for long time usually you have work or investment or house or family  , usually travel for long time not ideal to do

Congrats, may I ask a random and perhaps weird question. You applied in March, since you applied paper-based, when did you get your documents back with the letter?

How does one get an in-person appointment (in Auckland)? Do you need to have a good reason for them to see you in person?

It will depend on how busy they are after the holidays. A couple of years ago I applied for a passport on Tuesday and was surprised it showed up on Saturday, despite the ten days forecast for the standard service - it can come any time.
