Rikkitic:

Why is s*** okay but f*** isn't?

One is faecal language and the other is vulgar language. Nowadays, it can be assumed that the use of faecal language expressions in stressful situations contributes to coping with stress and therefore a purely critical, generally socially harmful perception of faecal language is misguided.

What is the correct colour trench tape for POE data cable and how far above the cable is the tape?

Pretty sure there's no requirements, unless it's owned by a Telco and they have internal requirements.

Tape is usually just half burial depth.

Despite being someone known for my profane language, I feel like we don't need even more negative tone by the use of even more bad language.

I try (not always successfully) to not swear as 'fillers' in normal chit-chat but dropping a good F-bomb, occasionally even the C-word (but not when Mrs. Floyd is around) does feel as though it relieves some frustration or ire.  I also think profanities help emphasise the severity of something particularly good or bad.

But always read the room, consider the circumstances, environment and audience.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

lxsw20:NZ post for my last couple of orders to Dunedin

Might have to give them a try if my The Nile order doesn't get here by Monday (The Nile will give me a full refund if Aramex don't deliver by then, even they have tried prodding Aramex)

I didn't want to order from Amazon if they are using Aramex (In Christchurch)

Thanks for the reply.

I have not had an amazon come thru aramex for quite some time. Perhaps they are done with them? However even when they did, I didnt have any of the problems that I have when people on trademe send thru them so I guess they treated their orders better.

Might be a silly question but can i use one of these pumps https://www.kmart.co.nz/product/2-way-double-action-pump-42494805/

to inflate an airbed like this? https://www.kmart.co.nz/product/flocked-air-mattress-queen-bed-42243663/

Or do i really need to spend $25 on an electric pump? https://www.kmart.co.nz/product/ac-240-volt-air-pump-42494881/

This will be for home use for unexpected guests

The reviews and description say it'll work for doing airbeds. I see no reason why it wouldn't.

I expect it'd be pretty slow (the electric ones aren't faster, you just don't have to sit there doing it). You're looking at probably ~3/4 of a cubic meter of air, and it looks like that might be maybe a litre per stroke per direction? Figure 300 return cycles, or about 5-10 minutes if you can keep it up.

Fine for an emergency situation.

It's not uncommon to see TM property listings mention "RC issued, BC issued, vendor wants to sell".  Why would someone go through the cost and hassle of getting all the paperwork done and then decide "nah, I'll sell it instead".  And, conversely, why would someone say "instead of sorting out my own build to be what I want, lets adopt someone else's abandoned one"?

I've used one of those double action air pumps, though a slightly larger version.

Pumped up the air bed quick smart. About 5 minutes?

Prior to that one, used one of those double barrelled foot pumps.
Took forever to pump up the air bed. It would have almost as fast as using lung pressure.

Moot point now that I have far more comfortable camp stretchers.
Air beds make me sweaty between the skin and flock.
No air circulation...
