For our kids we got them this a few years back: https://www.thewarehouse.co.nz/p/lego-classic-large-creative-brick-box-v29-10698/R1923582.html

They also have been given numourous sets at various birthdays and christmas etc. They are currently boy 7 and girl 4. They have been playing with Duplo then Lego since their hands could grasp things. Never had a problem with sticking the bricks in their mouths, just keep a close eye on them when first using them. We also have a large mat/bag which we make sure they play on, it opens out to a big circular mat but if you pull the drawstring it pulls up in to a sack for easy carrying and storage.

I bought my lego from my parents house 6 months ago and its nice to have it all sorted and organised.

I picked up the wind turbine set just before Christmas and am waiting for a rainy cold Sunday afternoon to build it and add it to the growing collection of smaller sets purchased in recent years. This is the first big lego purchase I've made however but having a regular income makes purchasing more Danish blocks more likely!

I'm an avid (although not so much these days) collector. Located my old sets from the 1980s and have slowly been replacing missing/broken parts with new ones, as well as adding new sets to my collection. My boys both like it too :)

I like Lego because it teaches kids about new career paths.

I never kept mine in sets.

All ended up in a big steamer trunk that was filled about a foot deep with bricks of all sorts!

No idea what my mother did with it all in the end.

My way around that was to keep it all assembled in a cardboard box stored at my parents, so one day I could collect it and start my collection up again (when I could afford to). I still have a lot of their catalogues too, even the one dating back to the purchase of my first set in 1983, which was this one (anyone else got it?).
