A few years back I had a Flattr widget on Geekzone. Werve millions of pages every month. I received $0.00.

Changing to a micrpayments world... If people can't get something for free (and I mean $0.00, not $0.05) then they just get somewhere else.

Jas777: I know this is a little off topic to this topic but it is related to advertising.  Is the over abdundance of reality TV related to the fact that watches of reality TV are more likely to watch TV advertising than watches of other content?

I think it is probably related to the lessening of TV station budgets due to loss of income to the internet. I doubt many people torrent those shows.

Because the "reality" programs are even more unreal than the advertisements?

I have to say, my experience on the 'other side' suggests that advertising is only these days a good adjunct for the larger business. And everything else wreaks of desperation. I guess thats how TV ads have been, but at the same time, I think that some bigger companies on the net, are fleecing people under the impression that it's a good forum for small businesses.
