The one thing that puts me off a dashcam is the USB cable running down the windscreen.

Wouldn't it be great if car manufacturers put a USB power port in the rear view mirror?

I don't currently have a dashcam.  I've certainly been considering buying one.

I don't currently have a dashcam. It's one of those things that keeps slipping down my tech and gadgets to buy. Dash cam and security cameras :-(

My wife is Japanese and about once a year she tends to get yelled at / abused on the road and asks me to explain why. A dash cam would make it easy to see what the reason was, she genuinely wants to improve and asks loads of questions and draws crazy intersection diagrams.

This dashcam would make our lives much easier, that is for sure.

I use my iphone 5 for everything. I suppose it makes a creative dashcam! Plug it into the car for charging. I have tomtom on it for navigation too.

USB power is just two thin wires carrying 5 volts. With every car I have had, it is fairly easy to pop out the window trim far enough to conceal the wires. I run them from under the dash around the side and the only bit that shows is from the exit point next to the mirror to my radar detector. You hardly see anything.

Don't have one.. but should.. would have come in handy recently when someone pulled into me, accepted liability on the spot then changed his story to the insurance company causing them to send an investigator out and waste my time!

They accepted my detail of events over his, but what a pain in the a$$!

I drive for work with clients and some of the driving I have seen certainly deserves to be captured on video for educational purposes!

I'd love one of these.

Sadly I don't anything other than my two eyes. Would of been good to have had one recently. Dirty old station wagon spun out in the wet right in front of me hitting another car and then they did a runner!
