Oh FFS....   now just had someone buy a $10 item from me - theyve emailed and said "I'll pay on the 13th".  Looking at their feedback, they do this to EVERYONE, and drag it out until the sellers give up and just negative feedback the guy and relist.  Its $10, if you cant afford that within 2 days, then you shouldnt be on TradeMe.

Giving negative feedback can help, but it can also end up with the buyer being vindictive about it and making up something about how you "didn't contact me," or some other spurious reason to slag you off. And then you end up with your own negative feedback because of them being a dick :(

Yep and that is a huge problem with the feedback system, there doesn’t need to be any truth about it.

If the messaging was done onsite then the lame excuse of "didnt get your email" wouldnt fly anymore and trademe would be able to see the exchanges when deciding to remove retaliatory feedback.

And it continues.... now the buyer has requested to push the payment from the 13th March, to 9th April!

Just told him "nope, 13th March fine, thats it. If want to cancel then say so"

I guess some perhaps are hopeful.

Can be hard to get stuff if you live far from the main centres.

Perhaps just point them to one of the man with van ads on TM or that shipping crowd that advertise there....https://www.shipmytrade.co.nz/comments.php

They still expect you to pack it into a box and accept responsibility for the packaging job tho. Very few of those delivery companies will turn up and do the whole lot to take things away.

And people get all pissy when I offer to pack things for only $30/hour plus materials.

Hes now said he'll pay on original date....  but Im suspect, he made a comment about his copy of the game dosent work on his PS3 so will mine ? Its a PS3 game.....  Im wondering if he has a copy thats scratched or something and he wants to pull a fast one by claiming the one I sell him is the scratched one. THink I'll be taking some detailed photos of the disc before sending.

Discreetly mark the disc with a vivid like block out 1 or 2 small letters and document it.

LOL... as predicted.... I agreed for payment on 13th. He emails today "I cant pay, can we make it the 27th ?" - I've just said no. Wonder if will throw toys out of the cot.......  its a $13 item FFS, yet hes been buying lots of other stuff. Im suspecting its just a kid going by the language and lack of funds.

And toys thrown.......    😜

Negative feedback all round - I just put a response asking if he'd like me to make his emails available so he can remember what hes said.

Complained to TM as well advising that the buyer may need a poke/warning as to his purchasing habits.

Sure, sometimes you do see something you really want, but cant afford it right then, so, put a question asking if its ok to delay payment. Not just hit Buy Now then negotiate.

Ask trademe to remove it as retaliatory which is against their terms. If you dont point that out to them you will just get the canned response that they "dont get into disputes" because they're useless and spend the exorbitant fees on nothing useful

I really do wonder why I bother trying to sell anything...... might just start burning crap.

Selling a number of PS3 games at the moment. Theyre listed in correct section etc, yet I get people asking "Is this for Xbox/PS4/PC/CD32/C64" - look at the ^%&*^$(&^*)%^%* section its listed in you muppets.

Argh. :)
