evilengineer:I'll just point out the logical inconstancy of calling any game "football" where you are allowed to use your hands and pick it up!
I'm firmly of the opinion that if "rugby" was invented by some posh-git private schoolboy cheating at "football" then "football" gets the name as it was self evidently there first. 😃

That's apparently because it's played on foot, instead of on horseback.
So why isn't polo called horseball, then? 😆

TIL (it must be a slow day) ...
Hoofball is a thing. So is horseball, apparently.
evilengineer:TwoSeven:I would suggest that England is now a place, not a country - it does not have a parliament, sovereignty or a national anthem.
That's a whole kettle of fish, right there! 😀
What does that make Wales, which has never had a parliament (Regional Assemblies don't count. 😉), never had any sovereignty (at least since the days of Edward I when he took the title "Prince of Wales" for the first born son of the English monarch) but does have a National Anthem?
Or Scotland? Parliament-Check. Sovereignty-Nope. National Anthem-Check.
Perhaps the definition of nationhood is having your own football team recognized in the FIFA rankings.

Wales and scotland have parliaments. England does not.
The welsh parliament is the welsh assembly, which is officially the devolved parliament. Similar for scotland (1999 I think).
As part of the act of union, england gave up its parliament and sovereignty and abides by the british parliament, which is located in england. Wales, scotland and northern ireland have devolved parliaments - this means that they can govern themselves with regards to local affairs, but national affairs (those affecting all three) are done through the british parliament. England just gets told what to do..
The kingdom of great britain and northern ireland is a sovereign nation.
Please spell the above highlighted words correctly. 🎓
Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

Don't agree. Wales doesn't have a parliament. It has an assembly with less power than the similar Scottish parliament.
And while some areas of legislation are devolved responsibilities are vary between the regions, neither body can raise taxes, start a war, declare independence or even run an independence referendum with Westminster's permission.
Which to my mind makes it difficult to class either as a parliament.

Pretty sure it was the Scots who gave up the sovereignty.
Just ask the Jacobites. 😀
Regardless, with over 500 English MPs out of a total of 650 its difficult to argue England gets told what to do.

Soon to be the Kingdom of Great Britain and then the Kingdom of England the way things are going with Brexit. 🙃

I have on more than one occasion contemplated getting a silicon roll up keyboard so that I can type properly on my mobile phone. It is painful using a mobile phone for anything, but you actually can't live without one. I'm guessing above quoted post was from a mobile phone. Less sympathy for tablet users though.

Then the poster is still being lazy as I know on my iPhone 7 it spells those words correctly so the person might have their spell checker turned off, which some do, due to the unpredictability of "Predictable Text" facility. Cannot comment about androids spell checker and predicable text facilities.
I also note that I missed The kingdom of great britain and northern ireland which should also be capitalised due to both nomenclatures being proper nouns.

Your corrections have nothing to do with your original post (British vs American English), so I'm not quite sure why it's veered in this direction. But, if you're going to be a pedant throwing stones, make sure that glass house of yours is built to the same exacting standards you expect of others.
Here are three for you:
1. Android in this context is a proper noun; as such it requires a capital letter.
2. It is the spell checker belonging to Android, hence there needs to be an apostrophe, ie "Android's spell checker".
3. It is spelt 'predictable' not 'predicable'.
Speaking of assistance to check spelling and grammar: after my 11-year-old son suggested it, I've installed the Grammarly plugin - it's very comprehensive and I'd recommend it...

Thank you - I deeply bow and kowtow to you 🙇
I knew about my android mistake but I was being derogatory and insulting to that OS in this case as I am an Apple fan/nut. Oops missed the apostrophe and the spelling mistake - my bad 😞
