KiwiNZ:
Sharing information is a big difference to taking someones creative work.
No it is not.
All current scientific knowledge and all our culture is the creative work of billions of people for thousands of years.
So you are saying if you wrote an Application , spent many months coding it you are OK for people to just take it without paying you?
It called Open Source. You might have heard of it.
It's so popular, most of the internet is running on it. And a lot of smarphones. And probably your TV inside 2 years.
Those who file share illegally are just free loaders.
No they are not.
If say MS Office was made available by Microsoft for download at say $20 people would still obtain it illegally for nothing.
If a person was never going to buy it in the first place, how then do you consider it a lost sale?
The presumption that 100% of pirates would have purchased their pirated film is not only without robust science behind it, it is also logically fallacious and patently ridiculous.
