Last 6 purchases via AliExpress Standard Shipping have been VERY fast to New Zealand, but real S  L  O  W  to get from Auckland to Christchurch!

Latest one took 10 days from Auckland for an A5 Bubble bag.

So far mine's been 65 days with the last update over a month ago. Unfortunately it was off eBay not Ali so there's no timeout for the shipment.

The last-mile carrier for Yanwen isn't NZ Post, it's Quantium. Here's what you get when you submit a support request via their web site:

An error has occurred.

Unusually for this sort of outfit they actually provide an email address you can ping, so let's see where that leads...

Mine all seem to get relabeled with a sender out near the airport. The actual senders PO box varies but is one of a few they seem to use for it.

From the incoming to NZ it was in the past reliably next day or the one after that it would hit my PO Box, but recently that has been up to a week. I dont know if its NZ post being slow to take it across the city or the incoming warehouse being slow to get it unloaded and relabeled and sent or what. Hell, I dont even know if the second sticker is applied in NZ or in China before it comes over.

We've recently started having "Special Line-YW" which I believe is YANWEN LOGISTICS (tracking ending in YP), get NZ delivery handled by PostHaste.

Wild to think PostHaste courier is cheaper than NZPost tracked mail.

I recently had 2 shipments "Cancelled by seller"  a week after tracking number had been issued. On one my dispute was processed and i was refunded the next day. The other one the seller claims it is in transit and to cancel my dispute and he will resend my order. I had about 6 messages from seller asking me to cancel dispute offering 5% discount and free gift. It looks like i have to wait another 35 days for my refund.

So their response was:

Unfortunately, parcels shipped from Hong Kong are not processed through our warehouse in New Zealand, and we do not have access to any of the parcel information.

Goods I ordered on 12 April are well on their way according to Aliexpress. Not so according to NZPost.

Be wary of Ali's "out for delivery" status, they post that as soon as its left the warehouse in China. Technically it's accurate, but still...

The problem is that different tracking systems will show things to you with different descriptions that are all simplifications of whats going on.

Often out for delivery just means that it has had the second tracking number assigned to it from what I have seen. Then it goes into the sack and off to NZ where it will sit around for ages.

Any insider know why that is? It's not like NZ Post is rushed off their feet with mail these days.

Bought an item this week on Anazon for NZ$160 Amazon Standard Shipping (Usually delivered by Aramex) was NZ$12, however the Amazon Express Shipping option was only NZ$5 more!

Picked the Express option.....and it has been Shipped by DHL and has already left the USA 😀

NZPost have 2 items ex AliExpress Standard Shipping.... one has yet to arrive in Christchurch after 9 days since leaving Auckland. The other is now at the Christchurch Airport Depot 3 days after leaving Auckland!

NZPost is certainly a lottery!

NZ Post also doesn't update it's status frequently

I've had similar status from them, then delivered within a couple days.

Best to use multiple trackers to get a better estimate where it can be

Well the Amazon parcel has been delivered, and the AliExpress item STILL hasn't reached Christchurch from Auckland in the same time it took the Amazon parcel from order to delivery!
