jonb:

Just had one arrived that had given up on too, arrived in NZ April.  On closer look all of the troublesome orders have been Yanwen Economic Air Mail

Most of these have been too, although the one that took three months between arrival and delivery was Singapore Post.

It seems to be more an issue of when it was ordered, orders in Feb-March are taking months from the claimed-arrived-in-NZ date to get delivered while orders in April-May take a few weeks from dispatch to delivery.

I feel a bit bad for the sellers, I'm about to file disputes for several undelivered orders which arrived in NZ in April, they may still get here but if the March one is anything to go by there's another month or so of waiting.

I gave up on my AliExpress order. Amazon AU will have what I need here in a week, for not a lot more money.

I once did a dispute and got a refund, but a month later the seller saw the product had delivered and got in touch to ask me to pay them for it. I did, of course. If something turns up after a dispute anyone could contact the seller to pay them for the item. They may have gotten insurance from the post service already, if they do that over there.

If i have to go through the dispute process to get a refund, then Im not as keen to quickly pay for goods that eventually were delivered

If the seller ignored my emails , and made it hard for me to get refunded, why should I make it easy for him & pay him if goods turn up 4 months later .

Ive only done that once .

Yeah, the ones that are cool about it not arriving I will sort out, and the weird thing is its usually the higher value things, its a USB cable or adapter or something which is usually the ones that argue and want me to "ask the postman" and useless things.

Anyone been impressed with the speed of Aliexpress deliveries?

My 3 orders turned up within a week and looks like they now use a local dispatch service?

Somehow all three orders were shipped in bulk (along with others) to New Zealand, repackaged and then sent together to me.

Arriving within a week. Well impressed.

I had one a couple of months back that arrived in about two weeks, that was impressive. It's very variable.

That has been the norm for quite some time that they get re-stickered with a PO box address near the airport as the return on. The tracking will say its in NZ long before it is, once it hits NZ they are really fast normally, but tracking will say its dispatched for NZ but its in a bag somewhere.

Much better luck with those ones still compared to the ones that use random countries postal services as the senders and come from China as airmail. Usually Singapore post is the one that lets things down.

I suspect all the march parcels now showing up were just at the back of a Chinese warehouse for a while waiting on capacity to get here.

Two more arrived today (see here for one of them), both Singapore Post with a return address of Changi Air Freight Counter in Singapore. The tracking number given was Yanwen but the package came with an SG tracking number on it on a sticker over the top of the Yanwen one, if you enter the SG tracking number though it shows the same info as the Yanwen tracking showed.

I wonder if the "destination hub/branch" it was received at was Singapore rather than NZ? So they ship to Singapore where it gets relabelled and from there to NZ, with tracking stopping at that point.

Going through a non-delivery dispute with a seller (Yanwen) as the order window has ended.

Despite no tracking updates in almost 2 months (last update at transportation hub), they ask for me to cancel the dispute and wait a few days ... as they have contacted the shipping company to expedite it :D

I've noticed the number of options for shipping are now significantly reduced. I checked a few listings for low-cost items and none had more than four shipping options, while some only had one.

AliExpress Standard Shipping still seems to be the best option, if it's available. I ordered two magnetic build plates for a 3D printer. They arrived this morning after only 9 days. Import clearance was last Thursday, so they may have been delayed by the long weekend.

I hope they are getting rid of the problematic carriers like Yanwen.

The combined delivery service, so far, has been a step in the right direction.

Yup. Just got some circlips and connectors for the water filter that were ordered on the 27th and delivered today. That's one week from starting the order in China to delivery here.

Yeah, Singapore seems to be cursed. If it's straight from China it's been really quick for recent shipments.

And now they've dispatched an order from the Netherlands, which goes with something coming from Dongguan, so two separate orders for things that go together. I expect the Dongguan one in a week or so, and the Netherlands one... dunno, perhaps for Christmas?
