By the looks of that box, Windows ate some bad acid (Ate-8 see what I did there?). Would love to receive that shiny disk though.

THis would do nicely for my son's Win7-toting all-in-one...

May as well throw my hat into the ring..

After all, who wouldn't want a psychedelic rainbow coloured holder for a nice DVD/coaster kicking around the house?

AND I'll save you the cost of postage by picking it up if you like!  Double bonus!!

Why I want to Win - 8 professional reasons

1. Windows 8 is a giant leap forward for operating systems everywhere.  Pretty soon, everybody will be poking and stabbing their screens like doped-up zombies.

2. Windows 8 is an exemplar of the design ethos.  Forget Apple and their sleek shiny iDevices - brightly coloured squares and rectangles are where it's at!  (pay no attention to the colourful swirls on the DVD cover - as Huey Lewis sang, it's hip to be square!)

3. Windows 8 is faster.  Extensive laboratory testing (at CERN of all places, and they managed to not blow up the universe with their Large Hadron Collider, which has to count for something) has shown that if you disable enough crap from the startup sequence, you can actually load Windows 8 in negative time.  How great would it be to push the power button and have Windows pop up last Tuesday?!?

4. Windows 8 is more secure.  Gone are the days of prowling the internet wastelands looking for a digital knight to safeguard your PC's virtue.  Windows 8 pro comes bundled with a digital chastity belt and prophylactic (just in case), so you can browse sites and files of dubious repute, knowing that the odds of an online-born infection are slightly reduced.  Whew!

5. Windows 8 is cheap!  Well, it was.  Until it wasn't.  Until it is (temporarily - for this competition anyway), but then it won't be again.  But don't worry - the negative boot time feature of Windows 8 means you'll be able to boot to a time back when it was cheaper, and save yourself $150!  Huzzah!

6. Windows 8 is integrated!  The cloud brings together all your computer-y things in one place.  Who needs Mega, or Mozy, or Dropbox?  Skydrive is where it's at (and all the cool kids think so too)! It's baked into Windows 8, so you can hop from computer to computer, like some loose-moralled trollop who taps away at different machines with scant regard for their feelings, and know that all your precious files are just a few hours away (tested with NZ "broadband" - YMMV)

7. Windows 8 is new!  oooh! Shiny!  aaaah!  Touchy!  wooooh!  Touch the shiny new thing!  aaaahhhh!  Go on - touch it!

8. I'd like to win it.  It would look nice on my 3-year old laptop, or on the desktop that I'm re-building for my mother-in-law.  But really, I'm not fussed either way.  it's always nice to win things.  Even Win-things are nice to win...  I got given a copy of Windows XP about three years after it was released, and I already had a copy, but it was still nice to win.  A lovely warm feeling inside of being picked out from all the milling millions of people who could have been picked.

But you know - whatever...

I bought a cheap notebook a few years ago for home, back when I had a job and didn't have to buy computers for home. For some idiotic reason I bought one with Vista and 1GB of RAM. It's ugly and I really need to win a laptop, rather than a new OS, but I'm told Windows 8 would work on it much better than Vista. I guess I'm a glaring example of you get what you pay for and I should have known better. I could do with a battery too, it lasts about 10 minutes:( I do have a violin though lol
