My suggestion for having pre-event drinks is to meet at the Viaduct Basin at 4:30 p.m.

I do not know the name of the bar but it’s on the corner as you walk into the Viaduct (Northern End). Opposite the big yacht that is sitting up on the street.

Once I get there, I will tweet the bar name and location (@computercraft)

We can then all share a taxi fare to take us to the venue at 6:00 p.m.

nate: Here's the view of the cafe from the road (apologies for the over exposure, was in a hurry and I'm a crap photographer)

The driveway will have the Tuihana Cafe sign next to it.  The building has over 100 carparks which we can use, so no need to park on the street. We have permission to use the whole carpark after hours.

But Nate where the hell do I park my F14

He'd need VTOL for that roof....  then it would probably collapse on Tuihana's guests cars tonight and I dont think their insurance would cover that :-p

Just do a low flyby and eject over the cafe; goose can valet park for you.

It is my personal belief that the meanest looking jet is the MiG-29. But the Tomcat is probably second on the list. Also, the F-14 kicks butt in Wargame: AirLand Battle, which if you're not playing, you should be. (Well, when it comes out -- owners of the previous game on Steam can currently play it in Beta...)

I agree the Mig29 just looks mean.

Horses for courses. The F-14 is not a ground attack jet, neither is the MiG-29. The A-10 is the undisputed king of a) ground attack and b) ugly. The Su-25 does not look anywhere near as mean as the A-10, though, so yes, I agree.

It is addictive. In order to get anywhere at all you need to master the arts of combined arms. A simple XXX rush will be easily repelled. To do any damage you need the whole lot: recon, armour, infantry, anti-air, air, and resupply.

Having said that a recent patch to the beta brought in 10v10, which means you can specialise and still make a meaningful contribution. I played two matches the other night, once as PACT and once as NATO, using unit decks consisting only of support units.

My game consisted mainly of dropping artillery on top of enemy blobs my team was attacking, and keeping supply trucks/choppers and anti-air units up with them. I still got something like 11% of kills on the team...

Anyway best not get me started or I'll be here talking about it all day.
