May have been mentioned already. Have not read the whole thread.

In NZ we cook tea. If somebody asks you over for tea it normally means come for dinner/supper. Nothing to do with Tea.

And if you ever going to a kids party. You will get to see fairy bread. Its disgusting stuff but the kids seem to love it. We once had a work function and everybody was asked to "bring a plate" Someone brought fairy bread. Could not believe it.

Sossage sizzles are also not that great. But thats an Aussie thing too. Its a piece of bread (un buttered), with a saussage on top (normally the cheapest sausages available), with tomato sauce and mustard sauce on top. Sometimes onion. Kids love them too. And hey, I have started eating them. Normally sold outside shopping malls etc ...

Some people also drink tea... but personally I could never get into that. If someone offers you coffee, what you're going to get is not completely guaranteed. I know some otherwise quite nice people who drink - ugh - instant coffee. But I guess nobody's perfect.

Something tells me I am digging myself deeper. But good whale meat is fairly coarse and taste kind of like other red meats - something like horse meat, bad whale meat can have a taste of cod liver to it.

As far as I know it does not necessarily mean evening either. Can be lunch.

Its confused us many times.

Anyone else think SaltyNZ should be our NZ ambassador? Dress him up in a suit made from the NZ flag, and he can answer all and every question when people step off a plane.
