Look closely at your ticket class. They will be different. Class and Service are different things

Same price? Could be different admin class. Meaning different situations even the same class of travel could result in diff points.

And did you get the SP figure from the "estimated" number when booking? Or has this actually hit your account?

This is estimate on AirNZ page under Potential earnings. Only thing I can see if different is CHC - AKL is 737 and AKL - CHC is A320
Same price flights but different times of the day.

It's probably a different booking class.

The simple reality is you can never actually fully understand the SP system now - it's far too complex even for Air NZ to understand it.

I can give you a classic example of a $704 Works fare to Hawaii earning 46 SP and yet the $1004 Works Deluxe gives 47 SP.

@Nathan - Hahaha don't think I want to subject myself to the hold music while they find the biggest manual known to man.

Does anyone know of a tool to check the class bookings easily?

Also Air NZ has a domestic sale at the moment (and yes I am mileage running)

that's the lowest of lowest.

ticketing price = class x service

high service low price = low class
low service very low price = low class

the only way to check before ticket is issued is to call the CSR
