One of the more credible theories doing the rounds where I am contracted at the moment is that the reason for the formula change was to bring us in line with the Aussie formulation, so that they can consolidate/rationalise their manufacturing operations. Presumably by shutting NZ and just bringing the product over.

Just tried Avalanche. Very nice, I think the new Milo will be in the bin very soon.

Will be interesting to see what happens to Milo sales in the coming months.

That doesn't make sense.  Australia only just changed to that new formulation as well - I still have a tin here in Queensland of the old formulation bought a mere 6 months ago.

I hear you all. Although its not rank, its a capable chocolate drink, which I assume I could buy a handful of other capable chocolate drinks at the supermarket. But its not Milo.
Its like they removed or heavily diluted the malt. When I was a wee kid I didn't like Milo, too tangy, I guess thats the malt. This is a great pity. I don't drink hot chocolate drinks, but I drink Milo.
