My Logitech notebook dock is my sounds for PC, (that is why all my old laptop keyboards and touch pads look new) that's connected to my Acer AIO PC now, laptop is now media center for TV,

I don't like using the laptop anymore as prefer the large 23.6" 1080P screen, also have a soundbar for TV which is great, but have nothing portable.

After aeons using cheap PC speakers I was amazed at the pure volume able to be produced by a small set of "Trust" Bluetooth speakers but have since been using them for everything from music on my iPad/iPhone to the grunt behind my basic projector viewing.

A better more capable setup would be a godsend (or Geeksend? 😂)

Wow awesome prize! Currently Dad only uses his iPad to play music and to watch films etc on (thanks to Netflix) so this would be a real surprise for him!

Made him this years ago as a child when I was 10. Does the job (It Works), still surprised that it's in one piece despite how much he's used it.

Sounds good - well at least probably better than my beaten-up 45-year-old Sony Solid State Digimatic clock radio - which came with genuine IC's. It was my pride and joy when I bought it new about 1970 - it really cost me a fortune when I was a student with no money but I just had to have it. Nothing changes - just like I had to have a Note 7 last week. My gadget addiction goes way back - even to when I was a little kid and was given my first crystal-set radio in the late 1950's.

I still use the Sony regularly as a radio in the shed and when doing DIY outside. Radio is fine but the flip-style electromechanical clock gave up the ghost about 20 years ago - half the flip things have fallen off.

A lovely new Bluetooth speaker would be the bee's knees for me.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

I use some kind of Panasonic sound bar thingy, that isn't actually a bar, but more of a box. It's black.

Would love this Fugoo speaker though!

Time to wish for an upgrade for my sound system in the garage / workshop! The 80's 'boom-box' has seen better days and doesn't look like it will 'dub tape-to-tape' again without some major reconstructive work. FM tuner still works well - just don't touch the volume dial as it gets a bit scratchy!

Here is my homemade "mixer boom box".

I could not bear to throw away an old set of Denon speakers so I re-purposed them.

Took a Mixer Travel Case, installed the speakers. Grabbed a 20W amp/Bluetoooth receiver off Bangood.com for $20. Put them into the case with a 12v power supply I had lying around. Added a 12V battery to make it mains free. Then added a port to the rear cover to give it some more oomph in the bass.

Great for music out on the deck but a little big to take to the beach.

Note the clothes hanger antenna, touch the volume and one or both speakers will stop working..
