I am enjoying it.

I downloaded Yousician and have been doing some fingerpicking single string single fret to a backing track, I am liking that, though my co-ordination (normally a strong point) is proving to take time to settle, and frustratingly, often it doesn't pick up sounds and says I still have played them even though they were played clearly... Also, timing seems hit and miss. I can't work out what's going on...

I might try another similar app and see if the same thing happens.

In case anyone cares, progress is happening (slowly) Last night I managed to pick my way through the beginner fingerpicking song with a backing track (love on the rocks). Not only did I get all of them correct, I can actually play some parts either without looking at the strings/fingers and also I don't always need to look at the notes to get the timing correct. My wife said it actually sounded like a song!

My fingers aren't too sore any more (though the callouses feel weird).

Went to the next song and the tempo is much much faster so I struggled quite a lot with that, plus it doesn't have an as obvious tune to follow, but with some practice, I should get it.

I do continue to have trouble with the first fret sounds, hopefully, that is more practice.

That's high praise for a rookie.  :-)

Well done.

Good on you, that must be very satisfying.

In terms of a guitar that's easy to learn to play, does anyone know what happened to the Magic Instruments guitar? Got to play one a few years ago and it's by far the easiest guitar I've ever seen to learn to play on, but their web site is gone and there's no recent info online about them.
