freitasm: "The brothers were born in Paris of Algerian descent. Cherif was sentenced to three years in prison on terrorism charges in May 2008. Both brothers returned from Syria this summer."

Once again, the existing structure fails. One of the suspects is known to the police, exactly like the Sydney shooter. Again, this person was in prison and this was even charged with terrorism before. Some failed at doing their jobs, which should be to keep an eye on the usual suspects.

assuming the press is correct. Has there been official review/statements?

BBC reporting the French Police, and references French media reporting for historical backgrounds.

Aljazera news is reporting that those two brothers are terminated. Hasta la vista, baby.

That means the other perp will take the full rap for all those killings.

He did, in a supermarket, along with four more hostages killed.

I think the other perp he was talking about is the supposed third gunman of the first shooting, who presented himself to the police.

Yes, him.

The guy whose classmates say he was in school all morning. Specifically a philosophy class at the time of the attack. A class in a school over 100 miles from Paris apparently.

Something of mild interest about this, is that the NZ Jewish Council condone the attack!

I can't quite work out why they felt the urge to release that press release other than to maybe jump on the "hey look at us" bandwagon ?

Never anything else in the press the rest of the year for them, but as soon as something with coverage comes along all sorts of people and organisations suddenly jump out of the woodwork!
