Yes, the either illegally downloaded the whole thing (copied it) illegally or screen recorded (the whole thing). Put it in a commercial player the whole video copied and made a tonne of cash illegally from advertising until I called them out. Oh and it was all my fault for doing that because after I did that and posted it on twitter asking why they were funding their staff wages in copyright theft. They removed it in 5 minutes then about 1 hour later they started with the advertising complaint video and remaking the video trying to stick with the law. Now, who is worse I would say the staff members and editors who know darn well they are funding their own wages in pbtechs stolen income. I am fully aware of defamation and I have all the proof I need to prove to any judge I am telling the truth. At least Pbtech is trying to make an honest dollar while making a mistake but newshub are like the gang down the road selling stolen goods. I would rather get my news from honest people who are not funded in copyright theft. These are the people who thrashed JOhn key and Kim dot com to death while stealing everyone's copyright. Go get your news from any other news outlet who is not into copyright theft. Oh and notice they have stopped and next week they will not be stealing anyone's videos because I will be screen reordering them in full with advertising and posting every single one to YOuTube with the title "newshubs caught red-handed stealing incomes from content creators." I have already told NEwshub it is not illegal in NZ, to tell the truth.

 

I literally just finished the Netflix doco on Roger Stone five minutes ago so maybe I’m overly-attuned to conspiracy theorising and the crazy world of such sites as Alex Jones’ Info Wars, but this post seems cut more from that cloth than the usual convo here on Geekzone!

What you are saying it is perfectly legal to copy a whole video and put ads on it and make money under what law? the only conspiracy theory is you believing newshub have the right to steal a mans income. Why did they take it down? because they know it is true, why did they spin it? because they knew they stuffed up.

What you are saying is it is ok for your kid to go to the shop and steal his bottle of coke and drink it under fair use. I am sorry but the law is quite simple and that is why it is called copyright.

The only conspiracy is the man who thinks it is perfectly ok for a video to be copied in full and put in a commercial player with advertising under fair use.

I'll even give you $1000 if you show me in law where it is ok to copy a full video and place ads on it. If that was true Peter Jackson would not have a job, Vevo would not exist, and jukin video would be bankrupt. They all are protected by the same law COPYRIGHT why is called COPYRIGHT? and what were your buddies doing with their video on newshub? I rest my case, ill give you 70 years to prove you're correct, though by then you may be living on the moon and be correct.

IT is a great law that protects your video from being copied and not used in a report. A report does not mean downloading the whole video and putting it in a commercial player they are a TV news network they may be within the law by adding it to a tv news report.  

What newshub is doing is copyright infringement. The video was available publicly to embed on YouTube in their story but they copied the video to serve to advertise on their report. A small amount was not used in an original work they made that is what fair use =, but then getty and apn would not exist, even a photo is copyright and they can't use that. So even that is being challenged and won in court. They took it down like the others I pulled them up because they are at risk of being sued if not it would still be there in full. Unless you live on the moon. You may want to read the law I called a copyright lawyer about this and recorded the conversation so the $1000 still applies.

If they were allowed to copy the whole video then when reporting peter Jackson new movie they could download the whole thing and put it in a commercial player and serve advertising go back to the moon. I have challenged muti-million dollar companies with this and won. try again. oh and they used to buy videos from me but then they started stealing them. I would rather watch news that is not stolen thanks or do you think video creators should not be able to make an income? how does a videographer who films news make money?
