Is the body of the heater hot underneath? How hot? Can you quantify it? Are different areas more or less hot or is it uniform? Why does it concern you?
Plesse igmore amd axxept applogies in adbance fir anu typos
gzt: Personally I'd be very uncomfortable with 'hot' and I'd return the product.
"Hot" is a very subjective term. Most people would find a cup of coffee hot but it won't set your carpet on fire.
The heaters would have to pass a standard for surface temperature. Ask the manufacturer if worried.
Reminds self to buy one of those point and tell digital temperature thingies. Cup of tea after six minutes hot is my closest calculation :)
Comparing, I bought a radiant two bar heater at the same time with dire warnings not to sit it on a flammable surface etc., put my hand underneath and it was not even luke warm after I’d been toasting in front of it. Can highly recommend these radiant heaters. My legs always cold in a room with Heatpump at 23. Got so sick of it and bought the radiant one. Amazing difference, feel toasty plus it’s only pulling 450watts per bar and I have to turn it off.

So, there's the joke about how if you talk about a subject, next time you go online you'll find adverts for it.
Has anyone noticed the same for Youtube? I was discussing something very specific in archery with someone over a phone call, then the next suggested video to appear on Youtube was exactly about what we were discussing. It was actually very convenient

An oldie but a goodie:
“Dude at work was complaining that his spoons were slowly disappearing from the lunch room. He had brought 6 to work and he was down to 2 . Everyone else in his lab hatched this plan:
Every time someone sent him an email, at the bottom, in white text (i.e. invisible unless highlighted), everyone would write “SPOON SPOON SPOON SPOON SPOON SPOON SPOON”.
We all did this for several weeks (he had a gmail account) and that’s when he started losing his mind: every website he visited had ads for spoons and flatware! He thought google was reading his mind.”

A friend took a video with his phone and was looking for a way to send it to me. I suggested iMessage. "Nah, can't do that, it costs too much."
He's on Wi-Fi, and I was under the impression that iMessage was free (it is on Spark/Skinny). He replied that he's with One and he has to pay for it.
Is he right? Does One charge for it?
I'm on ONE and get charged 42c for a PXT. Haven't tried iMessage.

If one of you is not using iMessage then it will be charged as a MMS.

No, they don't*
* iMessage is like WhatsApp and Signal & FB Messenger etc in that it uses mobile data / Wi-Fi to send messages. Note that both sender & recipient have to have iMessage enabled.
** There is an option to fall back to standard SMS / TXT functionality if sending via iMessage fails. At this point in time, the iMessage (blue bubble) is converted to a standard SMS / TXT / PXT (green bubble) and there will be a charge for the message. This auto-fallback can be disabled in the Message settings

Thank you. That's what I thought: no charge when on Wi-Fi. All our (text) messages get the "blue bubbles" so a video wouldn't cost anything either.
I have the utmost respect for medical professionals but I can't figure out why they say a "small scratch" when they go to to stick a needle in you. Surely a "sharp prick" would be a more appropriate term?🙃
Scratch is something I do to soothe an itch after a sandfly bite or somesuch, or what you get if you accidentally rub your leg on a raspberry bush.
Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.
Unless they're about to stick a needle into your foot they're probably better off saying nothing.

The idea is twofold. One, what should be happening is they are running their gloved nail over your skin, which creates a sensation, making the needle less of a 'shock' the second is a mental preparation thing so you are less likely to 'jerk' and potentially create tear or bigger rupture.
Smoke alarms need replacing and I am thinking Cavius this time.
Because our super high ceilings are difficult to reach is it viable to stick the alarms up with strong double sided tape on to beams?
