Another point of view on the hdmi ports. I've got 3 hdmi ports on my Plasma and I only use one of them as all items connect through my amp which has 4 inputs, I wouldn't think to use the tv's other hdmi ports unless I ran out on the amp.

billgates: ^ Seems like a waste to buy the blu-ray player because the TV they have purchased cannot even do 720P!

The BluRay players were thrown in as $791 / $795.
Pretty cheap for a Pana 50" plasma and player.

I looked at those but the TVs had only 1 or 2 HDMIs in and were 720P screens not 1080P..

Yup - HD only, but there's 3 x HDMI ports.

Real strange that they are still producing new 720P Tvs these days espcially if you are going to use a Blu-ray player..

Sadly my amp is too old to have HDMI ports, so I need lots on the TV.

I got my 310 from Harvey Normans in Ashburton on Christmas Eve (at Boxing Day price). They had a big pile of them then.

I just need to work out why the WiFi connection to my 3COM access Point fails! Might have to RTFM! LOL

For those that missed the Xbox360 4GB @ $174, JBs have now got the Xbox360 250GB + Kinect for $348. Pretty good value.

I went crazy and got an Asus 13" Ultrabook at 10% off from Dick Smith. I probably jumped too early into the ultrabook market as it is early days (like the tablets 18 months ago) and paid too much but I am loving the SSD performance.

Cheers, Matt

Thanks for that - picked one up at a HN in AKL yesterday. There is a firmware upgrade available so it would pay to get your wifi working. I have 2 wifi access points and I noticed that it would connect to one (d-link) but not the other (linksys).

So the Warehouse in central Dunedin just price matched this as they've got the same bundle advertised for $529.
- Xbox360 250GB
- Kinect + 2 x games (the standard Kinect Adventures and Carnival Games)
- 3 months  Xbox live

Woot!

Oh yeah, to those who don't have Xbox Live Gold, it's on special 3 months for $12.99 on the Xbox home page(on your Xbox itself, not your PC)

Thats only the first 3 months though, so normal price would apply after that? What do you actually get for that in NZ? It doesn't appear that xboxs twitter app will work without it, which sort of sucks, as twitter is free to use anyway. Thetwitter app on the sony TV is free to use, so a bit checky of MS to put that behind the paywall, especially when we have purchased the xbox. Doesn't appear to be too many apps for NZers on the xbox apart from twitter and facebook.

Did they better it? I was told they can only better it by $1 on electronic goods, even though all their advertising says they will better competitors prices by 10%

Might need to dig out my really long cat5 cable and connect it... maybe the update will get my WiFi working...
