I had a Navman MiVue 358, but it died last week. This would be perfect.

We don't have anything in either car at the moment. We got T-boned a while ago while turning right on a green arrow (driver came straight through the red light).

Luckily there was a witness who came forward otherwise it would have been a drama... This camera would have sorted that out.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Still relying on my own eyes + whoever is 'back seat' driving at the time. One of these would be great.

I would love to win a Dashcam GPS, as I don't currently have one in my car. As a driver who has recently upgraded to a Restricted Class 1 license I can see how several of the features such as Lane Detection Warnings, Warnings if I am getting to close to the car ahead and the Warnings if the car infront has moved and I haven't yet, will be beneficial to me with the Navman MiVUE 680 as I am yet to comprehensively understand and think about these issues/outcomes as much as other experienced drivers are.

I have tried a few Workarounds so I can have a Dashcam through my phone, however they aren't as practical as you'd think... see below.

Being able to record footage would be beneficial if I was to ever be in the occasion where footage would be needed (such as a Crash, but hopefully I'm not involved in 1).

So yeah, would Love to win cool

Driving in Lower Hutt where it appears few know how to use their indicators. At least I'll have evidence that they indicated they were turning but went straight up...

Procrastination eventually pays off.

I'm relying on my memory to get from A to B. I am therefore getting lost a lot.

My current dashcam is 100% organic. It is prone to the occasional "Did I really see that!?" error so I am looking for something more digital and less emotional. The Navman looks like it would fit the bill.

"Crazy" - for sure, as idiots are everywhere in the world, I see them almost every day in Greenlane and CBD, Auckland, but "Russian Style" - you wish... You have to live in Russia to get that kind of experience :-)

Congrats to skuzzb! Drive safe...

floydbloke:

This piece of junk, despite an OK-ish brand-name, hasn't really worked properly since day one.

I did tape it to a kite once to use it as a poor-man's drone.

In my experience most if not all Uniden products are junk.

Nice one skuzzb! I Wonder if Navman might have a deal for those of us not lucky enough to win but would consider buying one?
