We've got Diamond Fusion and been quite happy with it. What have been your issues?

Was good for a while, not that long, then it needed regular cleaning. Never really stays good no matter how much 'maintenance' we do. Right now they come across twice a year to do a special clean to get it back to 'new'.

Everytime they come around there is something new to do. We have had it a long time, on multiple showers. When our shower exploded and we got an entirely new one, the shower didn't even stay looking great for 6 weeks.

Never again.

We have a tile and glass shower in our en-suite, do spray and wipe with a microfibre cloth every week on all and then apply rain-x every 3 months (after the clean for the week) and pretty much still looks new after ~2.5 years.

We just squeegee our shower every day (last one through gets the job).

Still looks great after three years.

We have had DF a long time, more than 10 years, in that time, they have changed their recommendations on how to manage the DF surface a lot of times, and even different staff say different things in the same time period.

Most recently we were told to squeegee down the glass last person through, made no difference we could tell. We are about to call them to come and take another look again.

To their credit, they have come and looked at it, cleaned it, reapplied refresher quite a few times, left instructions for care which we follow, and only rarely charged us, however recently, they have just started recommending to clients they come twice a year and do a 'deep clean' which costs $50.

We pay it, as it's easier overall.

Next shower, we will look at an alternative product. For whatever reason, the product doesn't do what it says it will for us. Perhaps it's our water or whatever...

@networkn I would have thought that having to squeegee the glass after showers defeats the purpose of DF. Surely not having to do that is the purpose of DF - otherwise what are you paying for and gaining?

We moved into a new house nearly six years ago and have used a squeegee every time - we’ve done nothing more and the glass is still like new.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Not at all - they come out beautiful. Bosch hob.

The dishwasher powder hasn’t affected our aluminium range hood filters either - they come out beautiful too.

Edit: Maybe they’re not aluminium.

Ok, I'm going to give it ago tonight. Thats one thing that has never cleaned up well.

Works like a charm. Ours had some encrusted filth that might take another go to completely come clean, but damn!

Recommended.

We use steel wool to clean our gas cooktop metal bits around the burners, took around about 1 minute per unit. Looked like new from being nearly black. Wasn't a lot of effort required.

Hack from another thread: If Resene has mixed up the wrong colour and you're down to colour-matching a random scrap to try and get something close to it which ends up being pretty close but noticeably different, feather the edges where there's a join and then dry-brush it out even further. Since we're designed to see discontinuities but not subtle changes, it'll make two slightly different colours look more or less identical.

you still need to care for the treated surface. ours came with a sheet of instructions that indicated we'd would void the lifetime warranty if we didn't follow it but it's simple: rinse the glass at the end of the shower then wipe down.

There were a couple of brands of soap bars that they advised against using which wasn't a problem for us as we use body wash or more expensive brands of soap bars.

They also supplied a shower spray which has a reasonable price and lasts ages. Also supplied was "Chux Scourer Non Scratch" which has a shiny silver-looking surface. Both listed here https://vitroglaze.co.nz/buy-online/

When you double click a word to select it for copying it will be selected along with the space immediately following it.

Pro tip: on the second click of the double click hold it down then move the mouse slightly as if you’re going to drag a larger selection and you’ll find that the space becomes unselected.
