Geekeneer:

In all seriousness though, have you tried contacting the 'broker' company whose name you said is on the shipment bill?

I understand in this case it may not be OP's responsibility to do 'Due diligence' and fix their F'up, but if it were me, I would google the company that actually ordered them, call them if a number is available and just make them aware of the situation.

This.

If there is some way you can allow the delivery to occur without incurring any legal liability, maybe you should. Cover them with tarps, wait the 10 days or whatever, have a fire sale.

Batman:

well i thought that went away quietly but i just got a call today from a truck driver wanting to deliver 2 pallets of dell computers ...

blindsided this time because i have had no comms from anyone

so i asked him to return to sender ...

Did you confirm that the delivery address they have is actually yours? Not just the wrong phone number but correct address?

The supervillian in a cave under Batman's house is perhaps getting equally frustrated at Dell's inability to deliver the screens s/he needs for the Doomsday Device?

Batman foiling the villains again!

Surely someone somewhere is paying for this hardware and is wondering why it hasn't appeared yet...

Maybe it doesn't get billed until after it is delivered. Only individual consumers have to pay in advance.

The broker just happens to have  Batman and The REAL Batman (TM) as clients.

Wait, I thought the shipment was Monitors not Computers?

Or is this a seperate shipment to the first one?

(if it is a new shipment - expect to get monitor mounts or printers arriving next 😁 😁)

Truck driver might not know (or care) exactly what computer parts are on the pallets; monitors 'look like' computers.

Corporate purchasing can be bad enough that no-one will notice that what they ordered didn't turn up for a month or two, if ever.

I would not presume to advise anyone else but if it was me, I would say sure, just drop them anywhere and then refuse to sign anything if that comes up. This has gone on long enough and you have clearly tried to do the responsible thing. Time to escalate to the next level.

Does an order this size get facilitated by “Dicker Data” or “Ingram micro”?

It's probably direct from Dell (via DBSchenker).

We buy Dell from Dell, doesn't go via Dicker or Ingram.
