Has anyone noticed that their bandwidth is spiking uncontrollably (as in sudden increases and decreases)? Or is it just me?
This 'phenomenon' started to occur after the new broadband was unleashed and I find this very extremely irritating, as I enjoy playing online games such as 'Gunz Online' and the Ping spikes to 1000+ (extreme LAG), which leaves me nonplussed in front of the computer. I do a bandwidth check frequently and get a result of average 2-3 Mbps and then declines to 700Kbps when I do execute another test right after.

Is this only affecting me or does anyone else have similar problems? Any contribution would help, because I'm kind of desperate T.T

BTW I'm a Slingshot user.

Solroni:
An improvement from this mornings download speed of 174.
Did another test at 1947 - was up to around 1600 and the latest is
Last Result:

Download Speed: 890 kbps (111.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 130 kbps (16.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

Bloody abysmal and not good for gaming.
Speed tests should really be kept within an existing thread where ever possible.

In terms of bandwidth I've had really mixed results... during the day its really good particularly when downloading from Microsoft or Apple websites (which I assume have more local mirrors) however at night I get minimal speeds. However given the closeness from launch, I don't really blame the providers... they've had a bit leap in demand and supply will need to catch up.

It's very weird for me too, and I'm not on any full rate plan, but just on 2Mbps/128kbps with Actrix!

In the morning, everything seems really normal, and I get my normal download speeds of around 100KB/s (1Mbps)..  But then, in the evenings recently, it goes down way to around 10-25KB/s, fluctuating widely!

It's really frustrating..  And what's strange, is that it only started around Thu (Nov 1st)???  I'm connected to the Howick 4 exchange....

Anyone has similar problems?

I know thats its affecting users even not on Xtra, or on 'go large' type plans (as witnessed in our IRC channel) ... plenty of potential bottlenecks which can cause slowness.
