Hmmm. I wonder how is this going to be affected by their bandwidth limiting policies: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=6819

I wonder how much it's gonna cost?
Very geek, and in a sexy silver. It'd compliment my desktop computer quite nicely.  Laughing

It's SIP based and we all know what VoIP is like over ADSL at present..

Looking into this further I honestly can't understand why Telecom are bothering with this product. The device can only be used with the WorldGate service and isn't capable of being used as a normal VoIP phone.

Hello Telecom - anybody home? Why aren't you launching a SIP based service so people can use a single videophone as their home phone and also video call from? Is your NGN that far behind?

I have seen them and as they where pitched to me as well, all their SIP Servers are offshore and do not have a NZ Number so basically Telecom is reselling an Offshore Service for Point to Point service. When they allow the device to be unlocked and used with other SIP Services...(see Guys even I get locked out of Device configs :) ) Then we will readdress the unit as it looks okay and would actually run well through our network.
