They have aerial ducts with no metal in them at all.  I don't know if these are the ones Chorus are using but it means they can hang them in among the power cables, if they want to. 

These ducts are much harder to spot among the existing power cables.

happyone65: in the street i live in masterton they have put ufb on one side of the street about july last year and never touched the side i live on,power cables etc are all underground.
