My place is about 13 years old and as such doesn't have a distribution box. I believe the existing phone line connects to side of the house closest to the street front (the house is approx 30m down a right of way as well). I really want my fibre connection in my lounge which is essentially on the other side of the property. Is that possible without running internal wiring or paying extra for the 'free' fibre installation?

I believe the answer is yes. We had a comms cabinet well within the house and had Chorus run the fibre and install the ONT there. This was all discussed as part of the planning work before the install date. Cost me nothing.

Generaly if your existing copper service lead is in a suitable conduit for reuse with UFB then the new ETP will be located near the existing ETP or near to the end of the conduit.

If not and they need to install a new service line in then this could end up anywhere (this can be negotiated - generaly within 15m of property boundary)

Back to back is the prefured method of install for the ONT if possible (less cable, time of install etc) but if you were to negotiate to have it installed elsewher than that is up to you and the installers ( generaly within ~5m of ETP if possible but a bit further if a clear access run (not up and down ) again by negotiation )
