1) If the status of an address shows "Plans are still being developed for your address", does this all but mean there is little or no chance of UFB being deployed at these locations for the next 2-3 years?
2) A customer of mine was called by an RSP saying that their complex (Commercial) had been approved so that they could use the existing fibre (I presume dark fibre or something legacy) to run UFB over or to run Fibre at UFB prices, is it reasonable to assume all RSP's would have access to it? Thus reducing the leadtime
for installation ?

1) can't answer as that info is with the forcaster/planners @ chorus

2) means that the age, type and capacity of the existing fibre into the building is within spec (and doesnt need to be specificaly installed) for use as either

1:UFB backhall connection back to a GPON @ the exchange - with the splitter and a small fibre x-connect terminal/cabinet installed on the end to fascilitate local distribution via existing or new service lead fibre - Usable to connect installs from all RSPs haveing interconects @ that exch
or
2: UFB distribution from a splitter in the exch and feed directly to one end user - usable by a single or limited number RSPs as usualy only 2 fibre allocation ( ie one or two ONTS) - (this is how most schools are connected in)

Hopefully I gather in your case 1

In some cases existing P2P fibre can be used for UFB installs, typically until UFB infrastructure is installed in said building. There are a couple of hundred buildings in the Wellington CBD for example where this is possible.

When I saw chorus was digging up the street, which was near our place, i though we are going to get fibre very soon. Turned out that they installed fibre just upto our neighbour's, 20m away from our house.

Meanwhile, installation date is still being developed according to the chorus website..

I also too want to know (even roughly) how long should I have to wait to get fibre.

Planning Dates

In a project as big as UFB, across 27 towns/cities it is impossible to plan for work in any particular street further out than 24 months with any degree of certainty.

It is a nine year programme - so someone will be in year 1 (lucky them) and someone will have to be in year 9. With the priority in years 1-4 being hospitals, schools and business precincts, most of the residential areas are being built in years 4 - 9.

So if you get a result of "UFB deployment dates for your area are still being developed ", it means that you will not be getting UFB prior to June 2016.

UFB services over existing fibre

Not every building in the CBD falls into this category as we do not have legacy fibre in every building.

All ISPs have been informed of this opportunity to delivery service over legacy fibre in Auckland and Wellington CBD (where it exists) ahead of the scheduled UFB build.

In a project as big as UFB, across 27 towns/cities it is impossible to plan for work in any particular street further out than 24 months with any degree of certainty.

Ok, but do you know when the next projected rollout dates will be released to the public?
Eg, June 2016 is less than 24 months away now.

I was aware that there was a priority for connections to schools, hospitals etc, but I didnt realise that "Priority" might take 4 years though.

Im in a major centre and the suburbs on three sides all have fibre but my street/exchange area isnt getting fibre til June 2016, despite the suburb having a high school, a large hospital (private), and a GP surgery !!

Such is life.

You'll probably find the school already has fibre, installed because they are a priority user. They don't necessarily roll out fibre to an entire area when they do this.

Eg, June 2016 is less than 24 months away now.

We are doing all the detailed planning for the next tranche of build (2016/17) now. We typically release confirmed dates for a new tranche of build in the second calendar quarter of the year, so likely Apr/May next year.
