Just wondering how resistant the cables are to fire.   UFF have installed red cables/shielding here at Papamoa.  The cables go by the 11000 volt cables and into the black power box out front.  Over the years here I have seen many of these power boxes explode so wondering how the UF cables will survive if that happens

They might not survive, and would burn nicely once on fire and this is because the main criteria is to be strong, UV resistant and waterproof. The cable that goes inside your house would have some fire retardant properties and won't propagate the fire too far along the cable, so any cable fire doesn't get much further than the point where indoor and outdoor cables are joined. Thats why the join is on the outside of the house.

Time to find a new industry!
