Hey guys I came across this ISP Sinch http://www.sinch.co.nz/ I'm really tempted to go with them due to their irresistible vdsl rates (apparently we're not getting fibre in my area until 2017) and them being based in my city (Christchurch) which I assume will make it easier to fix problems if or when they arise. I have never heard of them before just happened to find them on google while searching ISP,s I don't think they've been around for long they starting posting on their facebook page October 2014 however their linkedin says they were founded in 2007. Just wondering if anyone could shed more info about these guys or if anyone here happens to be using them? Thanks.

Never heard of them. BigPipe are cheaper however: http://bigpipe.co.nz but you'll need to get a Master Filter installed. All providers have to go through the standard Chorus faults process so it doesn't matter if they're in Christchurch, they'll be /just as quick/ as any of the other providers assuming they know how to log a fault with Chorus in a timely manner.

2degrees unlimited VDSL is also cheaper than these guys and probably better than BigPipe if you prefer the whole free modem/free connection/contract thing.
They're based in Christchurch if you feel that's important (although Michael's right, it won't help with faults etc).

I use UnlimitedInternet (they are also cheaper then sinch) and have found them the be very good, great response to technical issues (not that I have had many) and they also do simple VoIP plans.

I keep reading that company name as Snitch and thoughts of the GCSB come to mind

Good to see another Chch provider, hopefully they can fill some of the void left by Snap! taking outside ownership.

Thanks guys probably should of mentioned in OP than am looking for vdsl with landline which for some reason most providers aren't will to provide despite us having vodafone vdsl with landline currently. I'm not really convinced voip is the way for me to go currently. Have a family mumber that LOVES talking on the phone haha and I guess old skool landlines come in handy when earthquakes come along and stuff everything! :/ Maybe I'll give these sinch guys a call and see what their all about.. Would love to hear other suggestions of good vdsl deals if anyone has any? 80gig is simply no longer enough, thanks.

May be going blind but, I couldn't actually see anything mentioning a phone service on the website other than VOIP for UFB which seemed to be a special request.

Surely Spark could offer VDSL with POTS? Especially as they own the NEAX exchanges. Also I think Snap offered VDSL with POTS as well. No idea if they still do since they are now 2degrees.

Thanks for your suggestions guys I will check them out. Called Sinch the other day but voip only. I am going to consider voip now over having a data limit haha.
