I'm hoping to have fibre installed soon. Looking through the plans there is an add-on of about $60/yr to not go Naked. I want to keep the phone line seperate from the fibre line. I'm not sure why though!

So can ppl please share their positive and negatives experiences/views as to why to go Naked or not.

I got naked fibre from Bigpipe, and a separate VoIP line from 2talk.

This way I get the best company to provide my internet service and my phone service.

2talk has lots of awesome smart phone features and it's only $6.9/month.

Why don't you tell us about how you use the phone? How many calls do you make/get each day on the landlne? What mobile plan you're currently on?

Landline calls out are about 20 per week - half of which are local.

Landline calls in would be similar.

I've got a Vfone monthly prepay mobile plan. Wife has an OnAccount plan.

Perhaps move your phone to the skinny direct $30 plan with unlimited calls and go naked for the internet at home. Downside is you cant use the "was not home" excuse when ignoreing annoying relatives calling you.

A phone line even thru the router like 2degrees and orcon do was more than $5 a month when I last looked $15 for 2degrees and not looked at orcon recently, which is why 2talk was a more attactive option since that can be done for about the same and is not tied to their hardware.

Naked broadband from Bigpipe + skinny direct is by far the best solution IMO

I was with Orcon but changed to Bigpipe a few days back and have Skinny/Skinny Direct for our phone solution. It's far more flexible than being tied to an ISP for your calls.
