I like how they have their name right in the middle of the table

Maybe that's their attempt at not being bias. Otherwise they would have only put their offering and none others.

Actually you have to hand it to them - their offer is very competitive.

Are there any better gigabit deals available?

Yeah, if I'm honest they did actual do a semi-decent job of not being an advertorial. The table, particularly Stuffs placement, caught my eye immediately however.

I didn't realise that Myrepublic didn't have a phone helpdesk. Is that correct information, as I can see an 0508 number on their website. Also are there really $348 in fees? I have looked at their site and can't see how they worked that out. Maybe that was if someone decided to get the expensive router.?

As I'm on record saying on other threads, I'm no Stuff fanboy, but I see this as just more of the same Stuff bashing that's so popular these days. What would you have them done; simply not include Stuff in the list? Put it on the bottom?

Perhaps the best thing would have been to list them in some sort of order - perhaps alphabetically; actually, many such tables would have listed them in order by price, lowest to highest - but I bet if they'd done that they'd have faced the same accusations.

As it happens, there are no specific pushes of Stuff Fibre in the article This is a breath of fresh air compared to the truly dodgy (and worrying) "native advertising" that's becoming so common on Stuff and NZH - now that's something to actually complain about.

Are you sure you are reading the same thread? I can't see any bashing of stuff anywhere in this tread.

Where did Stuff get their information from? VF don't offer gigabit UFB services... (confirmed via VF helpdesk today)...

Or have I been misled......?

Well, I initially read (and still read) the OP's wording of the thread's title as being sarcastic; this is supported by the follow-up post where the OP clearly suggests the table placement is deliberate. Not sure how else to read this, though the OP could confirm whether it was indeed correct.

Gigabit is available on their FibreX broadband.

Ok, a single persons post. But that is hardly an all out bashing. Most of the posts are actually positive about the story.

Yes on their cable 'FibreX' service. However stuff mentions both VF FibreX and VF UFB...

According to VF CSR, that is incorrect. VF UFB speeds still top out at 200mbps down.

In usual Stuff flare, their article got me all excited, only to be later shot down because of reporter inaccuracies.

And FibreX is $99 per month not $139.

Also you notice Stuff hasn't included cents in their Cost/Month price.

129.00 vs 114

Its a shorter price so it must be smaller right?
