Hey guys,

I'm new when it comes to broadband and everything involved with it. Currently I'm on TelstraClear dial up and I' wanting to switch over to Xnet broadband before the end of the month.

I've had alot of advice from others that I'll be needing a modem that's ADSL 2, wireless and has more then 1 port. They have also suggested that I get a wireless network card if I don't have one the thing is I'm not sure if I do. I've looked up my system information but I can't decipher if I have one installed.

I usually play a lot of MMORPG games and download alot of Youtube videos directly to my computer if that's any help as to what kind of I should get? I've looked at some modems from Linksys and Dynalink but alot of people said that the ones I've narrowed down are easy to hack into. I've no clue how to set up firewalling for a modem either.

Linksys WRT54GL
DynalinkRTA1335
Dynalink RTA1320

I've also got a PSP and would like to be able to play games online and put use the browser that's installed on there. It needs a wireless access point so I was wondering how to do that also?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys!

ScottH over in the Slingshot forums recommends/likes the Dynalink range over the Linksys,
in his post that was almost good enough to be a blog.

Even though the WAG54GP2 had more of the basic ticks on the board the DynaLink got it.
Te linksys WAG54 series is very hackable. there is so much information on the net.
I don't know if that's a good thing or not for the Linksys.

I ended up getting the Dynalink hellonearthisman quoted. Just signed up with Xnet too and am waiting on someone to come over? Will be setting up the modem first thing tomorrow.

Thanks for the replies guys!
