Hi
I am looking at buying a new broadband modem.
Currently I have a DSL-502T. The only thing I run through it of significance is WinMx and Utorrent and has ports configured for it as such. This is then plugged into a Netgear DS116 Dual Speed Hub of which there is 3 PCs/laptops plugged into that are all networked and can access each others hard drives.
I was looking at a DSL-604T modem on Trade me but I want to be sure I'm buying the right modem for what I need.
The reason why I looked at that modem was:
1: Wireless so wife can study/surf in front of the TV in bedroom and i can join her so she doesn't moan at me.
2: Has ports to plug into into encase I don't want to use wireless and can leave other 2 PC/laptops plugged in at all times if I choose.
3: By picking a modem that has the option of 3/4 plug-ins at the back, I can do away with the hub. For the future, I would be looking to run the printer off of it as well although I would research that first because I am not sure on the first steps on setting that one up. I have an external hard drive and would optionally look at running that off the modem as well (if in fact, it can be done) so house can access files.
Would this sound like the right modem for me? Can anyone advise anything better/more suitable - Pros/cons etc?
Kind Regards
