Hi There,

Just wondering if anyone has any good sparky contacts in the Palmy/Marton region that would be able to wire up a new house all correctly to a centralized comms box pretty much as per the photos in this thread;

https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=49&topicid=75882&page_no=5

Ideally they would have an idea of the best place for the box via looking at the plans and understanding where the demarcation point will be.

I would of thought there was some sort of standard install, however, I have seen some woeful installs and really don't want to see my another...

Cheers for your time!

Marty

A sparky isn't necessarily your best bet. There are plenty of data cabling companies around that specalise in this type of work now.

VAAV in Palmy do commercial and residential work and are switched on...

Give them a bell and they should be able to at least point you in the right direction.

Down in Welly now.

Give Contel a call - 06 355 2700. Palmy based data specialists as well as Chorus contractors so can give the best advice on setting the home up for fibre.

They will run RG6 and audio cabling for you too if you ask.

In no particular order (but I'm biased towards the first) CONTEL, Datacom+, NZ telephone & Cable - all three Palmy based - Ive only found one sparky who really knew what he was doing when it came to structured cabling, but he is now out of the game (he did too good a job for a price and was then undercut by those who didnt, he lost business and the end customer lost out on the good job)

But it's just wires though right?  Sparkies do wires?
