I notice in the UFB reference offer there is a section 3.1.1 b:

An extension of the Fibre Lead-in up to 10m radius from the ETP (there will not necessarily be a break in the Fibre Lead-in at the ETP) to:

(i) a suitable mounted SC/APC connector at a secure location inside the End User Premises; or

(ii) if there is an OFDF beyond the ETP, a splice or LCA connector on the OFDF.

Has anyone actually gone for either of these options, or do they just generally run a SC/APC fibre lead straight into the ONT?

The reason I ask is, we would like to move the location of where we store networking gear within the next year. And I figure it would be cleaner to have a lead going via conduit into either a SC keystone in the wall or a rack mounted OFDF that we can move.

You should contact your RSP and ask then to get your LFC to move the ONT

Yes it does happen and is normal for some installs with some LFC's who will install an ITP. As you haven't said if you're with Chorus or a LFC it's not possible to add further to this.

With Enable (LFC), sorry wasn't clear on that. Linked reference offer is also to the terms of Enable offer.

Enable charge $250 for a ont move from what I learnt today so it would be cheaper to buy a sutible cable and extend the run.

Just something to consider

Yeah, I imagine their would at least be a callout fee. I figured if the ETP and ITP/ONT had SC connectors each end I can stick within the 10m radius or supply my own 15/20m lead. But I am not sure if another connector type (LCA) is preferrable or easier to move.

The etp is fused and has no plugs. The itp has SC/APC connectors so this would be your best point to extend the fibre run from. Just rember the network has a certain level of signal required to meet spec. If not achieved it will degrade your signal. All connectors must be extremely clean.

SCA / LCA / SC / LC are quit easy to indentify. Look at the same size and color.
Don’t plugSCA into SC connector.( or Vic’s versa)

More than likely too far outside the box. And a question like that will raise a few questions really. I'm assuming you ment etp not itp. As the itp as a requirement is fitted with a plug to connect the yellow fibre cable.

Secondly the enable network will not support SC/APC connectors in the current etp.

I did mean the ITP, as the examples I have seen have the lead cable from the ETP with no connector and instead an internal splice then a lead from the ITP to the ONT. And the ITP is one of the pieces that I would want to move. I don't know how to achieve flexibility to move things in 9 months time with the ability to keep a clean fibre cable. I was hoping there would be something like the option for me to run conduit then a lead with SC/APC connectors at both ends could run between the ITP and ETP. Then if I moved it in the future I could just supply my own longer lead.

I understand you had something to do with Enable @phantomdb, so if you have any suggestions how to ask for the right thing I am open to ideas.

im the actual guy that turns up at the end of all this to physically install the required stuff, to be honest i cant help much more than give you some insite as to how things are really im not up the chain enough to pull any strings.
