Hi all,

Embarking on the UFB install (finally) via Spark after it becoming available in the street and have been avidly following  posts etc. on GZ to help make this simple.

My challenge is that the install has become nonstandard due to me not accepting their proposal and to me it just does not make sense what they are proposing with respect to my current copper phone line path to the house. Some scene setting details for you all. In the first diagram below:

• Orange line is the overhead fibre down one side of the street and branching across the road to service the other side.
• Green line is my current copper phone line, which is underground from the pole in to the house. Note fibre is already across the road on this pole servicing the neighbour
• Red line is the proposal as chorus network says the pit within the red ring (which is nicely flooded, see last image - right of black box near blue tape you can make out bubbles of leaking copper network according to chorus guy) is where my phone comes from and hence my my fibre. They will go up the pole near the pit across the road down that pole and underground a metre or two to my rockwall (see second image), then conduit over the wall. I will need to dig underground etc.

I have pushed back to spark who said this is now nonstandard and will provide me price...I am unsure what additional cost there will be as the labour would be the same if not less time to install, fibre is on the pole my copper comes from, no need to string across a road as they propose...??

I am keen on guidance on how to escalate further...Thanks in advance.
