Am currently on fibre with another service provider which will be cancelled tomorrow(don't like them any more so have to cancel)

Have narrowed my new ISP to Skinny or BigPipe:

BigPipe 100/20 $79/mo no contract $49 connection fee BYO modem

Skinny 100/20 $68/mo no contract $148 connection fee (you have to buy their $99 modem no exception & a $49 admin fee) so: (($68x24)+148)/24 = $74.17/mo over 2 years

Skinny 100/20 $73/mo 2 year contract free modem & connection ($58/mo first 12mo & $88 2nd 12mo avg/mo is $73)

Have read on numerous forums that bigpipe is a pretty good ISP, can't find any info in Skinny as a UFB ISP, only that it is a barebones ISP whuch is expected given their pricing.

Anyone have any experience/advice on these 2 ISP / UFB deals?

BigPipe - Can opt in to a Static IP ($49 once-off fee - CGNAT by default), use any router you like or purchase a HG659 etc.
Skinny - CGNAT so no port forwarding, no option of a static IP, have to use their router.

Both are essentially the same ISP / Network - just different virtual companies. If you have any intention of port forwarding ever or using your own router then go with BigPipe.

Skinny uses Bigpipe's network so you're getting essentially the same product.

Bigpipe will let you get things like Static IP's if you need them and use their app which lets you prioritise traffic, EG ensure downloading won't slow down your video streaming.

The other thing is Skinny require you buy their router (Huawei HG659b), but once you have it you can change it to any router of your choice.

BigPipe you can use pretty much any router, If you bought the Skinny router you could change to BigPipe later if you liked using the same one.

HG659 (no b ), and you won't get support if you use another router.

I don't need port forwarding or a staticIP but thanks to your link and the promo code, Bigpipe end up being cheaper than Skinny over 12 months even though the monthly price is $20 more :)

[e] having said that I've just been offered this with Spark online chat. $89.99 a month with 3 months free. As I'm already a customer there are no connection or router fees so it works out to be over $100 less than Bigpipe and $330 less than their standard naked rates.
